Highlights of the Weekend
I finally found and bought my anti-nail biting nail polish from Carrefour. The story of how we ended up shopping at Carrefour started at 10pm when my frens and I wanted to go shopping but no other shops were open. So we dutifully trooped over to Carrefour with our barang barang. Mind you a total of 7 bags btw the 3 of us! Placed them all into the trolley, which alr occupied 70% of the space in it before starting our hsewife lifestyle. We even ventured to buy 3 packets of durian (1 for each of us) cos the uncle was le-longing his wares to go hm.
Aniwae, what was written on the back of the nail polish box was really funny. Can't rem the exact words, but there was a phrase that went 'when the initial urge to bite has decreased...' It must hv been the way I said it, but my frens were laffing so much.
This weekend has been a record of sorts for me, cos I think I slept very little for a weekend standard. Went out bright and early on Sat to eat Long John breakfast. Been a really long time since I managed to catch breakfast of any sort. Haha..surprisingly the egg-and-cheese toast was really good! Went for Klunch next and once again, plunged into a singing marathon of sorts. If any of u are gg for Klunch, pls rem to bk 1 day in advance, cos it will save u $2 per person ($7 instead of $9/person).
As it was raining pretty heavily, decided on the spur of the moment to catch a movie and that was y I found myself in a cinema barely 5 mins after leaving Kbox. Luckily, the show was pretty gd - at least it has a storyline, the ending was gd, all in all a feel-good movie.
Got waylaid outside UOB/the old OG place and got dragged in for a presentation on travel accommodation for close to 2hrs! At 1st, I honestly regarded it as helping the gal taking our survey (who earned $160 cos we listened to the presentation). But at the end of the 2hrs, I think we were lucky we managed to escape without any harm done to our pockets. It's the usual suspicious setting often read about in the newspapers - loud music, handphone off, drinks provided, constant sales pitch until the value of the deal is thrust into yr face at the end.
I mean, it may really hv been a gd deal, but I couldn't help but resolve (even before stepping in) tt I will not sign anything. I mean if the deal's gd, y can't they offer us the opportunity to go hm and tink about it? They can always hv the offer period open for 3 days or sth. They were just blatently pushy and by the end of the whole thing when it became obvious to them how resolute I am, the mgr just abruptly said she didn't want to waste any more time. I was relieved honestly.
Decided to go for some retail therapy to sooth my raw nerves. Tinking back, the whole episode was really quite scary. What if I lost my senses and signed anything? *shudders*
Continued with my retail therapy on Sun since OG had a 20% storewide sale gg on. All in, bought a watch and suit for my new place. Shld b enuff to start off. Let's see how their officewear culture is like before commiting further cash to my wardrobe. =)
Proceeded to my coll's hse. She can really cook cos her chicken rendang, curry, lotong, fried chicken, briyani rice were all delicious! I was pretty full and yet still ate. Explains the tummy, I suppose. Haha..
Will be on leave tmr..yay!
